Morinville Poultry Farm is no longer certified by the Alberta Halal Auditing Service
At Alberta Halal Auditing Services (AHAS), trust is the foundation of everything we do.
We understand that Halal certification is not just about compliance—it is about confidence, accountability, and religious responsibility. Our goal is to ensure that every certified product meets a standard that the Muslim community can rely on with certainty.
AHAS is a non-profit organization, and many of our team members and volunteers dedicate their time without compensation. This allows us to focus on integrity and service, rather than commercial interests.
We believe that Halal certification should be clear and understandable, not hidden behind vague claims.
That’s why we:
Clearly define our certification standards
Document and verify every step of the process
Maintain detailed operational records
Conduct both scheduled and unannounced inspections
Our approach ensures that certification is based on real verification—not assumptions.
Our certification system is structured to ensure consistency and accountability at every stage:
Facility Review – We assess operations, equipment, and procedures
On-Site Inspection – Direct evaluation of slaughter and handling practices
Personnel Verification – Approval of trained slaughter personnel
Operational Testing – Real-time observation of actual processes
Certification Approval – Only granted after full compliance
Ongoing Monitoring – Continuous inspections and random audits
Certification is not a one-time approval—it is an ongoing process.
We apply strict requirements to ensure authenticity:
Every animal must be slaughtered by a trained Muslim individual
The name of Allah must be recited for each animal
The animal must be alive at the time of slaughter
Proper blood flow must be achieved
We do not certify:
Controlled Atmosphere Stunning (CAS)
Vertical-cut slaughter methods
Any system where proper verification is not possible
If there is any doubt, the product is not approved.
To maintain trust, we actively monitor certified facilities through:
Regular inspections
Frequent unannounced visits
Direct observation of operations
If a facility fails to meet our standards:
Certification may be suspended or revoked
Products may be rejected
Corrective action is required before reinstatement
We maintain detailed records for accountability, including:
Who performed each slaughter
What animals were processed
Dates, times, and operational details
This allows us to trace and verify every certified process.
We require strict safeguards to prevent contamination:
Separation between Halal and non-Halal products
Controlled handling and storage
Clean equipment and verified procedures
There is zero tolerance for cross-contamination.
AHAS operates with a clear commitment to:
Integrity – Upholding authentic Halal standards
Transparency – Making our process understandable
Accountability – Taking responsibility for certification decisions
Independence – Free from commercial pressure
Halal is not just a label—it is a trust.
We recognize that families, businesses, and communities rely on Halal certification with sincerity. That is why we take a careful, cautious, and verification-based approach in everything we do.
When you see AHAS certification, it means:
✔ The process has been carefully reviewed
✔ The standards have been strictly applied
✔ The operation is actively monitored
✔ The certification is backed by accountability
